Well, looks like indoor dining can resume on Monday. Part 2 of Phase 2...Baker's daily press briefing. Not sure I'd take advantage of this yet, but it'll please a lot of folks.

Yup, looks like traffic should be a lot busier come Monday.

Not sure when I will take advantage of on-site dining just yet. I've kinda grown to love this new concept of getting everything delivered.

Same here. I've eaten outdoors once (in RI) at a place with a ton of spacing. I'm still skeptical of it. Indoor dining makes me a little nervous still.

Ooh, getting onto the Cape looks the typical terrible summer traffic. Guess we will find out soon whether it will spread there.

Hopefully not, unless the visitors are coming from TX, FL, AZ!

California ain't looking so hot either, which is troubling considering they seemed to have managed it well at the beginning. Too big and too much coming and going to avoid it, I guess.

It's been stated elsewhere in this thread, but CA definitely benefited from the early Asian lock downs and Trump's flight ban. They deserve some credit for placing restrictions ahead of major northeast cities - I believe NY lagged by at least a week.

Fair enough. Good context for the beginning of this. But now, the massive recent increase in new cases in California suggests it's something more than just increased testing. Our new cases, despite increased testing, continue to decline. It's difficult to make sense of it. Yes, California is much, much larger, but they are really embracing that exponential curve right now.

We are not a backwater. It will be brought here repeatedly, just like it has been to California.

Isn’t the bulk of the CA spike centered around LA? The initial one was centered around the Bay Area. From what I’ve seen (and I could be wrong), the Bay Area isn’t surging right now. Not like LA, anyway.

The "curves" for fatalities in AZ, TX, FL, are flat. Texas is a massive state that registers fewer deaths a day than Massachusetts.

Did anyone look into what these allegedly surging statistics might be? I posted some thoughts earlier, I see those were promptly ignored.

Why is all "bad news" immediately believed without question, but "good news" denied? Every time.

Why are so many other places in the world not concerned as much? Is it really ridiculous to question how stats are taken and recorded? It has always been a cluster to keep track of what these metrics mean and then when they change midstream. It's shocking how little curiosity you guys on here have about all this.
