No way are you going to get 90%. 80% maybe. Right now they are at 3.5 million and 4 would be about 75%. Doing about 250k first doses a week plus perhaps some amount of J&J...

That is just adults and maybe Pfizer will get approved for 12+ at some point in the near future. I could see the MassVax sites closing by say the end of June as they finish up people's second doses.

Then the focus will be on the 6-12 year olds when they are approved. I think studies are in progress for that age group and possibly 2-6 Y/O.

Best studies ever, showing that young people have immunity from a virus that they have no risk from. Amazing how that study will look. If they passed it for adults it will be passed for children, and many will force them into a vaccine not needed. Good for them.

India's Prime Minister Modi wouldn't listen to his medical and public health experts and he prematurely declared victory over the pandemic - he opened up big public events like political rallies, festivals, religious gatherings, pro sporting contests, etc. Now India is paying a terrible price. The infection rate has increased more than 30X over the past 3 months, and hospitals are overwhelmed, oxygen supplies are dwindling; crematoriums are also overwhelmed and the bodies are being burned in public parks. Journalists who've been staking out city crematoriums and counting bodies say that official government figures may underestimate the true death toll in some cities by 10X.

Young people certainly do not have immunity. They may not get a bad case of it, but they are capable of catching it and continuing to pass it around to each other or to older folks who choose not to vaccinate.

Kids under 14 account for 18% of the total cases over the last 2 weeks. Folks over 70 were ~3%

Stop! Didn't you know you're interfering with his narrative that this was all made up to keep kids home and appease the teachers' unions who were too lazy to go to work?

I think it's been known for a long time that kids can get this but you're right in that most don't get a bad case of it. The woman next door to me is in her 30s tested positive and she had no idea because she had 0 symptoms.

RIGHT! And he is running for office and held campaign rallies too--all was well, lol. No one should vote for him, he has killed too many of his fellow citizens. Cities like Delhi are the worst impacted but of course, it will spread even more. How irresponsible can anyone be!

I know this thread is about MA, but it's not a coincidence that the countries where the virus has caused most damage, have been led by science-deniers (Trump, Modi, Bolsonaro).

I have coworkers from India who have been in touch with family back home and they tell me it’s quite bad there. One coworker has lost 5-6 relatives in the last two months.
