39 isn't a much of an increase on the deaths side. 2274 is an increase on the cases side, but I remember reading that it's mostly been kids and teens who are getting it (whom it generally doesn't affect as much as the elderly, no?).

The latest report shows the Cape communities being hit pretty hard this time around.

Somewhere, somehow the variants found their way to communities you wouldn't even imagine would get them first and you know they're going to spread.

In other countries, a rise in kids/young people is followed a couple of weeks later by an increase in the parents' age groups (we might not have vaccinated those groups by then). The lucky middle-aged women (and others) who will be left with long covid weeks before vaccination.

Right but would the state and feds allow that. The borders are still closed

They aren't issuing new student visa anymore. Heck I was talking to a Nigerian the other day that is unemployed because no one would sponsor her work visa and she's already here. Her profession is government. Unless it's a major city no local government sponsors visa holders. State might, federal sure with Biden but the federal process is very different.

Watch the show 90 day fiance. Even those with marriage visas are denied entry.

Remember you can take classes online. As long as the institution allows it then that's it. Academia doesn't have an "out" due to covid. My girlfriend lives in Storrs ct. It's the largest public campus in the state. If students left they are not allowed to come back. Many didn't go back to China. UMass Amherst had a huge debate on this months ago

The borders are not closed completely. There are plenty of international flights coming into the US everyday. There are limitations but lots of people are flying into the US from abroad.

I'm sorry, your evidence of the border being closed is a reality television show?

It's kind of laughable. Meanwhile, my sister flew home from London yesterday for a visit and said the flight was about 3/4 full. We did a little plane spotting from Constitution Beach on Sunday - British Airways, Emirates, Qatar, Korean Air, Air France, Icelandair, Turkish Airlines, Japan Airlines, Swiss International, Lufthansa, and more are all still coming and going with passengers. But hey, a couple of people on a reality show are having trouble, so the border must be closed.
