AT LEAST the lawn dog cr@p is now covered by snow. It was hard to tell it from the leaves, especially at night. Now its frozen and visible again.

The best thing about this time of year is that you can clean up after the dog with a 9 iron.

Snowing all day here, pretty much. Supposed to snow most of the night. Almost two feet in the last two days for some places around here.

Happy Northwest Year!

Not a typo. We are going to change to a more NorthWest flow starting the new 2016 Year.

Pattern is changing and maybe we'll be calling it abrupt? We'll see. These cold air masses will get more common now. Each time colder maybe. No more well above normal temps.

Add this Polar cold with an active Sub Tropical Jet and you can get big snowstorms. Blizzard types.

" Our first back-to-back days in the 20s since Feb."

Above? Nothing to get excited about. now, if it was 20 below it would be winter. Hope it's a trend though.

I believe Eric is from Boston area but normal max in Bangor is 33° so having days in the 20s is below normal but point was, its been a while! .

And FYI....20s below zero has never happened.. -6 was January lowest max temp in Bangor. -16 for Caribou

In 1984 we went three weeks without ever going above zero. It happens.

Lol. Now I know your joking. All cool. Happy New Year.

Most was 2 days in a row for Bangor failed to go above 0. 4 in a row for Caribou. Doesn't happen especially the negative 20s you called "winter". Lol

Btw.. Jan & Feb 1984 was well above normal. Dec 1984 was normal.
