I had heard of a person living in an area where the kids would drive by and use a bat on the mailboxes. One year, the power companies were relocating all their poles (moving them back) and the owner of the property asked why they didn't just leave the pole at the end of his driveway. They did and the owner cut it down and put a fortified mailbox on top.

The next morning they went out and found a perfectly fine mailbox and a split baseball bat.

Currently here in Aurora, ME...15F Degrees, Dew Point 6F Degrees, Forecasted Low tonight -2F Degrees. Winds NW 11mph. Been clear and bright all day today!

Sat inside yesterday and watched the rain melt most of the snow (except for where the drifts rest and now look like glaciers floating across the Meadows)..Amazed at how much snow melted..Also, amazed at how quickly the temperatures fell and everything froze again!
Into another chilly week we venture, holding the weekend's moments of peace and warmth closely as an embrace!

I think, that where I am near Salisbury cove that we have at least 9 inches. I had to snow blow it because it was above the legs of the puppy and he had no place to cr@P. Its still snowing like a banshee. I expect another 3 inches at least.

I’m seeing mostly in the 30’s for a warm up where I live. This is not melting any snow.
