I was about to post. Yes... get ready for another big snowstorm Wed-Thursday. Then rain next week. I think we might be done with the snowstorm for this month at least after this week.

OK, Now it's serious.

We are dead center in the 30 to 36 inch zone and it is going to snow for 18 more hours. I measured 19 inches in the driveway and it was bare last night at 6 PM.

Fortunately it is blowing off most roofs. Those folks with homes and camps in sheltered spots could get more than these amounts. I looked like the abominable snowman when I came in form blowing snow. It is not safe to go out into the road - period! Visibility is often less than 100 yards. I am completely losing sight of my barn which is only 65 yards from the house.

Whoa! Stay safe and keep the measurements coming. Send them in to NWS if you can.

I forget which office is your local office so here's both.

Honestly- I think we got about 36 inches of snow.. And No- I am not kidding. While the drifts in areas are huge, the fact is where the snow is level and stays at the same height- is at least 3 feet deep. Additionally- I have 4 foot tall stakes at a dogwood tree we planted last spring, and there is only tops a foot left of it showing - in a large flat level snow.

Also conversation is that in one storm, we have received the amount of snow we got in 3 storms back to back in 2015. Yup.. I would believe it... Sure looks like. it.

Wow guys, Wow. Yeah, at this point trees, fences and structures are used to guess how much is out there. Gees.! And to think more coming Thursday is crazy. hang in there.

Are businesses and schools closed for few days?

From NWS Caribou:

  • Highest snowfall report of 30" at the small town of Cary Plantation. Numerous reports around 2 feet now.
  • Bangor now at 19.0" snow. That's the #14 storm on record (records began in 1920s). Only need another inch to crack top 10.
