I called them last week sometime to fish around about my status since people were starting to talk about their applications switching to active from blank. I was told that all information was complete and they would start calling later this month. It was very non-specific information and not much I could really make out of it and well I don't want to call again because I don't want to seem impatient, although I am extremely impatient at this point with how my current job is progressing

She said it was the same manager for her dept. who interviewed her at her 3rd interview. She just basically told her she got the job and if she wanted to take it and gave her all the other info like time shift/pay. She got to pick what days off she wanted. She just had to sign a paper which was the job acceptance. Then had to fill out other paperwork online. Her status changed to Hired. Her manager told her to give her 2 weeks notice in November for her present job. Her uniform fitting is in Oct. and training for 1 week on I think Dec. 6.(9-5pm) Aria opens Dec.16th.
She also sat next to someone who got hired for Valet and she thought someone from Cocktails but wasn't sure(because of the big boobs and high heels) LOL! I said how do you know she couldve been for another dept., but she was'nt sure (it couldve been an internal though) What stereotype they have.LOL!
I still didnt get an invite for drug testing but I have been to 3 interviews. Open and Active . Just waiting.........Hopefully soon. Cant wait till this is all over.....)

Hi Butterfly,
No I don't know anyone else in Cocktails in the same situation as me. I did call CC rep yesterday to ask when they are giving job offers for Cocktails and she said she wasnt sure but they already started calling people this month and all through Sept. but wasnt job specific. Her answers were general,I don't think they even know. I did tell her I have been to 3 interviews but didnt get an invite for drug test and she asked if I was an internal(which was odd). I said no. My status still says active, so it is still a good thing, but couldnt give me any more info. Maybe there could be a glitch in the computer system in the hiring process. ........... This waiting period is making me very anxioussssssssssssssssssssssss!

**Any one in Food and Bev got a job offer for Aria yet?

i have a very good friend that was just hired at mandarin.. they are doing the internals first and whatever is left will be to the externals... but you better do awesome during the probationary period because they will keep 10 internals before 1 external and when the chopping block comes out, it aint gonna be pretty, especially in this economy... imo, if i had a job at one of the hotels already on the strip, i would stay put.

this is probably a dumb question, but if you are internal housekeeping, why would you switch properties and risk it, wouldn't the pay scale by the same at either hotel?

I agree. If you are doing ok at your current job, keep it. Seniority is very important in Vegas. Most, if not all casinos do layoffs by seniority, not by performance. The people that are left after all these layoffs are there because they stay put and don't quit every time a new casino opens.
I made that mistake before. Now, after being laid off 3 times in the past 4 years due to lack of seniority, I wish I had stayed in one place instead of applying every time a casino opens.
