Blarney's just calling it as he sees it...can't fault him for that. There's so many CC cheerleaders here right now. I imagine that will all change when CC doesn't come through for them. It will be interesting to go back and read after the **** hits the fan.

Someone is going to have to pay for this eyesore, and it isn't going to be me. I've been gambling since early in elementary school. A Vegas casino is like an SUV. It's nice and big, but not practical, can be very expensive to operate, but is really not necessary for anything.
No one is on this forum because they applied as Substitute Teachers. If you think that those Cocktail Servers, Bartenders, Cashiers, Dealers, Slot Attendants, Floor Supervisors, Waitresses etc... any tipped position, working at 4 or 5 Star properties aren't making over $50K you've never had one of those jobs. I've worked entry level tipped positions for the past 7 years and have never made under $45K. And that includes local and strip properties.
I think there's nothing wrong with us being excited about possibly working at the CC. Having hopes and dreams doesn't make us naive or ignorant.

Usually, they are begging for Substitute Teachers. That is indicative of the tight labor market. Few casino workers would apply because they lack the 2 years of college and probably the clean rap sheet.
Would they take work for 12 bucks per hour/no benefits today? You bet your ass they would.

Got the call last week from CC to take hair drug test. Gave me the location in my area on where to test. I was able to test that same day,the clinic also told me they send it the same day the test is taken.

How will we know the hair drug test results??? On our CC account???

Thanks.

How do we know the test results of the hair drug test?

...and, frankly, the biggest mistake an unemployed person can make is putting all their hopes on one place. Besides, who's to say they will even LIKE the job if it does happen. It's just a new casino people, it's not Mecca!

There aren't that many places offering entry level positions where you can make $50K-$60K or more a year with tips. I have relatives in CA, AZ, IL, WA, and NY that are my age and I can tell you they are lucky if they can get $40K and thats with Degrees.
Las Vegas is not perfect but at least I can make a living.

Yeah, it is true, I was an education major from UNLV. Other resorts in
other cities pay below minimum wage to minimum wage @ $7.25 p/hour
for the same position. Plus, Las Vegas is an international destination.
There are alot of people here who are talented in other area's besides
working, music, the arts, multilinqual. Also: it has the best looking girls
than any other city, who are also multitalented, interesting with great
personalities, some from around the world.
