I'll give a GOOD part of Las Vegas. With all the negativity on this board a positive story might be welcome by some. We are moving to LV, finally, later this month. We have bought our house and are remodeling it. Our contractor let us know yesterday that we had a leak in our drip line, apparently water had been sprouting up, and a neighbor we have never met capped it off for us. I am excited to meet this nice neighbor. There are good people everywhere!

Yes Nevada wages can be less but you earn what you know and your experience is.. Walmart is paying 15. with you're theory, the assumption is Walmart pays $25 in California..

The Las Vegas temperature will be higher but the heat index will be less.
And it well be significant lower than say Phoenix.
As to cold in the winter it is better than virtually anywhere in the Midwest or East. Try a few years in Rochester or Buffalo...
