How is it? Has anyone stayed there? I like the location, and am one of those people who don't spend much time in the room when on a trip. I don't care if the hotel has a spa, etc. Fiancee likes the 24 hour restaurant in the hotel, and as it HAS to be better than Denny's I am inclined to like it too.

I also have a hatred of the "Resort Fee" so am looking for a hotel that doesn't charge it.

Just looking for a fun 3 night getaway in Vegas and a hotel that is clean but allows for spending money in other places...opinions?

I have never stayed there, but I have spent a lot of time in Bill's. It is a lower end casino, but they have low limit games and cheap drink prices. I like it.

Low limit games and cheap drinks sounds perfect. LOL As I said, looking to have fun while leaving the majority of the money for the stuff people really go to Vegas for, like the drinking and gambling!!! Also, as fiancee has never been, I am reluctant to spring for one of the more "expensive" hotels as he is a bit iffy if he will like it. So, we go, check it out, and if he likes it, we can maybe upgrade to better...or stay again if we like it.

It's centrally located as you pointed out. The rooms themselves are large and clean but extremely dated. The casino is smoky (if that matters) and there is no swimming pool but you're allowed to use the Flamingo's.

Good to know the rooms are large and clean. Really all I care about. I go to the room to sleep. I can't sleep if I feel I am somewhere that is dirty...old/dated doesn't matter.

Did you stay there? All the reviews claim it was really loud...but isn't that to be expected oon the strip? Or am I missing some sort of additional REALLY loud thing (like a fire station in back?) that I should be aware of? I mean, a room on the strip should have strip noise...sort of part of the deal!

I find ALL casinos smoky, even the ones that people say aren't all that bad, but thanks for the head's up. I just deal with it when in Vegas. And the use of the pool at the Flamingo was actually a selling point. Had a bad experience there and have often said the only reason I would ever go back is to get to use the pool (the flamingos and the layout amuse me) so it is sort of 2 birds one stone.

Never stayed at Bills but all casino's on the strip arent neccessarily loud. I have stayed at other properties and they have been very quiet. Also, the smokiness doesnt have to be put up with either. Places like Bellagio, Venatian, and Ceasars have ventilation systems where you cant smell smoke at all.

I recommend staying away from those online hotel reviews. You can read enough of them and start to believe that where you want to stay is hell on earth! Some people really seem to enjoy taking out their anger writing those LOL

My first trip to Vegas we chose Imperial Palace, for the same reasons you stated. Cheap, great location, and we weren't going to be in the room other than to sleep, shower, and change clothes. Reviews for the place were mostly awful from lots of noise (It's Vegas, it isn't going to be QUIET!), slow elevators, slow checkins, etc. It was FINE. Our room was great, the beds comfy and clean, the staff was efficient (10 minite check in) etc. I got worried before I went, but it was for nothing.

I say go for it, and if you ca use Flamingo's pool...awesome! Its supposed to be really nice!

Best value on the strip. My husband (waiter on the strip) recommends it to people who are nice. And yes, I hear Flamingo pool access is included and very cool.

Never stayed at Bill's, but perhaps noise complaints came from the fact that the south side rooms are very close to the street (Flamingo) whereas in most other strip hotels the hotel itself is set back from the street.
