All you have to do to drink free in a casino is just sit down at a slot machine and wait for a cocktail waitress to walk by. You don't even need to play the slot machine.
Because that would mean I would have to sit inside a casino! Aint worth it. I'd rather be outside walking around with a drink. Too much to see to be stuck inside a building.

A friend always talks about "free" drinks in casinos but when she's feeding a machine $20 bills, it's far from free. And if you want that server to come back, you should give her a buck or two. Not free

Pick the right casino, and the right spot, you can get quite a show just watch who/what wanders past.

But that's still INSIDE. In the smoke. Sitting down. That's just not for me. Ask anyone who was at the meetup in April ...I really got stir crazy sitting in the restaurant. I just wanted to go outside and be moving. -

Now I get. You, Kimba and others like Fremont street because you do not spend time in the casinos. I like the strip because I do like to hang out in the casinos. For someone who likes to be in the casinos, Fremont is horrible. To me, Fremont is horrible to hang outside too simply because there is nowhere to sit.

I really didn't like Fremont St...felt like it was trying to hard to be hip and compete with the strip. Would have liked it to have looked a little more like an older area...kind of liked the California and the Main St Casinos, but other than those, not impressed.

And, Bill's was great but ended up making us REALLY mad on the last night we were there, so iffy on whether or not we would stay there again.

Yes, I agree, what happened? One thing I will say is you came at the wrong time. Friday and Saturdays are the the best time to be here, and Sundays thru Thursdays are the worst. Those days are heavily discounted for a reason.

We had an issue with shower in the room not draining. We called down to the front desk for assistance with the issue. She asked my room number, which I thought was odd as I was calling from the room phone. She looked up my account, asked me to repeat the issue I was having, which we felt that we should have a new room or at least some sort of response from the hotel. The front desk response was that there was nothing that she could do for us because we already were given an upgrade so moving rooms or having someone come to fix the issue was not going to happen. I was pretty amazed. We weren't complaining that we didn't have enough cups or even towels, but that the shower had become next to unusable (it was fine the first day and in that am, but after housekeeping went through and cleaned, it was backing up, not sure if maybe they somehow got something stuck in the drain???) and their response was "you are getting a good deal so there is nothing else we can do". I even offered to be switched to the normal room which we were paying for prior to the upgrade for the last night, and was denied because we had already had 2 nights at the good rate.

My poor finace had gone to the casino and missed the entire issue with the drain and the phone call. He left the room with me happy, came back to me close to spitting nails.

So, because THEY gave us an upgrade for free they seemed to feel that voided any right we had to have issue with the room. And, sorry, but a shower drain that fills to ankle deep within 2 minutes is an issue. Oh, and I called the reservations desk from a different phone number (Google Voice) and they had rooms available, so switching us to one with a shower that worked would have been possible.
