I must be losing my mind . . . ok, what else is new?

1968 Polk's lists zero gas stations on or about that intersection. I KNOW it was there!!

I took a Google StreetWalk a few days ago, there's a gas station there now as well as a 7-11

It had to be one of those locations

I'm now blaming Polk's for the oversight

I remember a station on the south side right where 43rd comes in from the west. At one time it was Vickers, but not sure of the original name, perhaps Hudson?

This is correct. The Site station was on the south side at the bottom of the hill just west of North River and North Crysler ran on the east side of the station. The main office for City Block was a little up the hill, but their land ran down to across from the Site Station.

If I remember correctly, there was a SITE station where the 7-11 is now. In fact, I'm pretty sure of it.

Default Cable vs Hays

It looks like Cable moved from North Main Street to Noland Road prior to Jerry Hays moving from Lexington to Noland Road. Wish I could find today a car with that type of price. I think might get this price at a junk yard.

Gene Cable Chevrolet was first to Noland road I believe. Soon came Ford (uptowns Moody Motors), Volkswagon (McIntosh Motors which burned uptown), Wilmoth Buick, Galen Boyer Pontiac, and further down the road, Bill Rodekopf AMC. I don't remember when Plymouth and Dodge appeared on the 'mile'. If I'm wrong anywhere, I'm sure someone will let me know......

I can't give you the order; however, Moody Motors had become Jerry Hays Ford prior to moving to Noland Road. I got a 1966 Mustang from Jerry Hays on Lexington and that was in June of 1966.

You are right Casey. I should have been more specific.

There were no Noland addresses for any of the aforementioned in 1963 Polk's

By 1968:

Galen Boyer
Gene Cable
Martin Gerber Motor Co
Independence Dodge
Ketchum Olds
McIntosh
and Midway Lincoln-Mercury

were all on Noland

Browning Chevy 10401 Independence Ave
Rodekopf Rambler 10812 Winner
Wilmoth 9510 Truman Rd

In fact the only Used dealer in 1963 was the ol' reliable O&E Motors but way north @ 404 North
