were all on Noland

Browning Chevy 10401 Independence Ave
Rodekopf Rambler 10812 Winner
Wilmoth 9510 Truman Rd

In fact the only Used dealer in 1963 was the ol' reliable O&E Motors but way north @ 404 North
When I left to go to basic training in January of 1964, Noland Road south of 23rd had yet to be widened to four lanes. When I returned from Germany in June of 1966, Noland had been widened and they had built a highway called Interstate 70. Things changed radically in the nearly 23 months that I was overseas.

Apparently so. The 1963 Jackson County Aerials that have been posted by MAD clearly show construction on interstate 70 through Noland Rd.

I have zero recollection of that so if one had asked me when was I 70 built I wouldn’t have known

That line up sounds right to me, except where on Noland was Ketchum Olds? I thought they went straight to 40 hwy.

Are you REALLY sure about Ketchum? The address would have put them on the east side of Noland, about where the car wash and McDonalds (now removed) are and I don't remember ANY major dealer in that stretch of road. Someone NAMED Ketchum perhaps?

I would SWEAR that Ketchum went straight from Truman Road (near Sterling) to 40 highway near the Blue Ridge Mall.

11323 Truman Road Lloyd Ketcham Oldsmobile

810 W. Lexington Blue Valley Studebaker

The vacant former Martin Gerber Motors building burned early today. It was a total loss.

I think I remember taking my driver's license test at the DMV located on Noland Rd. in 1968. Also rember an old house on the west side of the street who had a yard full of used cars. He would advertise them as being sold as "individual owner" in the KC Star want ads.

Ketcham Olds was at 11323 Truman Road, just east of Sterling. They then built their new home on 40 highway. They were never on Noland Road.

Busted. I stand corrected

Mistook Truman for Noland

Must've confused the High School with the road

1968 Ketchum 1323 TRUMAN RD Double checked this, misprinted address, you are correct, dmouse. I shift the blame to The Honorable Ralph Lane Polk (1849-1923), his Successors, and Assigns

1980 Ketchum 11911 US Hwy 40
