Switching from 24 Hiway and North River, let's take a drive by Osage between Maple and Lexington.

Now a question. In Independence, there is a street by the name of Ruby. After whom was the street named?

Does Tenet own the new hospital in Independence? Tenet did build it, didn't they?

Welcome back Hazel,

Tenet I know not. HCA bought both The San and MCI, and then combined them into Centerpoint. HCA still owns and operates it.

WOW, ty MAD. Hard to imagine those being there without seeing a photo. Did you catch the part about that parcel being owned by the SKOOL District? Makes me wonder if that land wasn't originally purchased for purposes of a future school site, then following WW II ("The Big One" if any remember All In The Family) the housing shortage changed priorities

Obviously Old Man Wolfe from St Louis (who owned Alton Plaza) was the highest bidder. And 1957 was a pivotal year up and down US 24

Whatta shame Too bad there wasn't some well-to-do benefactor who might have been able to save that iconic building

Nowadays, there probably would be. Or a fundraising campaign by a historical society, etc.
