Seriously.

And THAT was the ridiculous public school to which we-briefly-sent the cub. Based upon the test scores.

Don't believe them. For even a second. What Northside has figured out is how to teach the test par excellence.

Thirty-fourth best in the nation. Good Lord.

"The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office processes roughly 250 concealed weapons permits a month"
At $75.00 per permit application, that equals $18750 per month going into the county coffers...
I wonder why he opposes the idea? And if someone travels they are still going to want a permit to carry out of state.

And my neighbor went into the sheriff's office to get a permit, took training documents that they didn't even want to look at. So, I guess for the standard permit, limited training may be needed, but you don't have to show the certificates?

But he still had to have a background check right?
I think people need to think more about what would happen if they end up shooting someone with it. You will be held to a higher standard and I feel that training would help you in court, especially when the person who trained you is testifying on your behalf.

Advocates for Add the Words legislation to 'wrap' the Idaho Capitol on Friday

Add the Words advocates seeking anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Idahoans will bring back a "Wrap the Capitol" march and rally this Friday, pressing their cause at the Statehouse a month after the House State Affairs Committee voted them down.

The rally to surround the Capitol is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, the advocacy group said on its Facebook page.

"We will be here until our legislators agree with the 67 percent of Idahoans who support Add the Words Idaho and sign it into law!" the group said. It referenced a recent poll on the subject by Idaho Politics Weekly, an online news blog.

Sort of Idaho news... "Our" Viggo Mortensen, part-time Clark Fork rancher and Hollywood movie star, just won an honorary "Bodil," the Danish Oscar, as a lifetime achievement award. His father was from Denmark, and he has maintained ties to the "Old Country." He even speaks Danish. Way to go, Viggo!

Bruce Willis was like Viggo when he was living here. Bruce made some good friends here and fit right in. I was sorry to see him leave.

Idaho loves freedom of religion, so long as freedom of religion means Christianity only:

Quote:
A North Idaho senator is objecting to allowing a Hindu prayer as the opening invocation for the Idaho Senate on Tuesday morning, and says he’ll walk out. Sen. Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, said, "They have a caste system. They worship cows." He acknowledged the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows any kind of prayer, but said he thinks the Hindu one shouldn't be allowed to open the Senate, as the United States was "built on the Judeo-Christian not only religion but work ethic, and I don't want to see that undermined."

Default YAL (Yet Another List), this time Idaho comes in first place

From Investopedia:

Lowest Homeowners Insurance States

Nationwide, the average yearly home insurance premium is $1022, (2013). Idaho homeowners paid just more than half that, ($538). Other Pacific Northwest states also scored well, mainly due to the benign climate and lack of natural disasters. Further validation that the COL in Idaho is less than average.
