Hi, my friends, finally snapped out of my funk and decided to cook. Tonight we are having: brown sugar Italian pork chops, parmesan garlic roasted baby potatoes, glazed carrots and buttermilk biscuits.

Two things:

1. No. You said that we're pretty much the same person. Like twins.

2. My old boss -- from a million years ago, before I became my own boss -- once said this to me: "You only see in others what you already have in yourself." So there! Back to point #1.

Ribeye steak (thinner cut, well marbled, $4.27, to be cooked quick) slathered in onions, peppers, mushrooms. Macaroni salad (gussied up with a bit of mustard and green onions added) on the side. A salad with romaine lettuce, radishes and green pepper slices. Maybe a stalk or two of green onion. Yum.

It's my son's last night home before he departs for his last semester of college. So I let him choose.

He's always loved potato dumplings and sauerkraut - so I am making this - The Veracious Vegan: German Vegan Meal - Ham, Potato Dumplings, and Sauerkraut

And a Dutch apple pie topped with Ben and Jerry's chocolate ice cream (vegan for him) Regular vanilla for us. I can't fathom chocolate ice cream on apple pie - but he's always loved it.
