Went out for an early dinner to celebrate the husband's big 51 birthday. Let's see if I remember what was ordered. Appetizer was calamari, rings for the husband and tentacles for me and the ten year old, the five year old had one ring and was done. The husband had cabernet braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. I had pan seared haddock with roasted apples, butternut, potatoes, etc. The ten year old had pork belly tacos and the five year chicken fingers. The five year old's taste in food is the bane of my existence. Not really but it's a head scratcher in our house. I had a Wachusett Country Pale Ale to drink. It was all really good.
We went home and sang happy birthday over a candlit mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. No one, even the five year old, eats cake in our family.

Starting to return to the land of the living, but I was lucky enough to have that ham I'd made see us through. Of course now I'm totally sick of ham.

More ham tonight, and it's glad I am not to have to cook: pea soup and ham & peanut & veggie fried rice.

If you do just the tail lobster is not as pricy as everyone thinks.

A beef tamale so small I wanted to shout, "Where's the beef?!", chicken ramen soup with a shot of hot sauce, 2 microscopic Clementines. A most uneventful dinner.
