It is early A.m. for the east coast. Late for me but I have to say no good cooked meal is better than a hug from your mom. I wish I was on her porch in NC watching my son catching fire flies right now..... I am home sick, but born here (CA) go figure. Kats thank you!! I have had a hard day. I miss my family. My hubby wants to know what I want for my b-day. 9/14/08... LOTTERY (Nomad remember?) MOVE?!
My goal is to live next to my mom. She will not have to worry about cooking Tomorrow is another day Don't worry be happy...
At the store today I looked at the HIGH prices of fish sticks and other pre-prepped fish stuff, then at the LOW price of pollock fillets and thought - ha! - I can make panko pollock.
So that's dinner tomorrow night.
Panko Pollock is also the name of Jackson's younger brother....
DP bought pollock last Tuesday; it was considerably cheaper than haddock or scrod.......and I did bread it with panko. But if its getting "trendy" the price will probably start to rise.

Saw pollock on one of Gordon Ramsey's shows in a eatery in Wales or Ireland. He put it on the menu for fish and chips.
I always wondered what to do with it since it's real cheap here.

I think it might go well in a fish chowdah! Will give it a try as the seasons roll and a steaming bowl of chowdah and crackers with a little puddle of melted butter in the center, perhaps with a few chives or a sprinkle of parsley round about the top.....salt pork, onion, potatoes milk and flaky white fish....I don't think I can go wrong.
Old timers round here like to use cod or "Finnan Haddie" for chowdah, but I think you could use any white fleshed fish.
I'm as unsettled as the weather for tonight's dinner. It will not be chicken as I'm chickened out. All this talk of fish may have an impact before the day is over. It's dark and dreary enough to make chili sound good until you step outside in the heat...Cheese sandwiches and tomato soup may be a solution for tonight.
The 7th anniversary of the day they ruined my birthday, Lacey.
My Gram's is Peal Harbor Day. It seems to run in the family. Grr.
