Hopefully we'll be headed to NC where we should have gone when I wanted to!! LOL
Believe it or not, I've never been to NC. Some areas do sound very nice. I sure don't blame you for wanting to escape your endless winter in MN.
Our friends said we should have considered the Carolinas instead of Vegas when we moved out of NY in '98, since it was a lot closer to home. I was just afraid that we wouldn't fit in there, especially since my husband's livelihood always depended on being in people's homes (back to our NY accents again). Now there's a lot more NYers there, though, so I obviously was mistaken.

Reason: spelling
sounds like many of us have the "itch" to hit the road and move. My hubby
teases me about being an Army brat that can't stay in one place more than 10 years Don't know what's for eats tonight. I'll ck in later.
In regards to the Carolinas from my personal observations: It seems most people I have met here in the last year are transplants. Most have moved for similar reasons....they love the beauty, the price of living here, the weather and the friendly people. This state is growing in leaps and bounds. People here are from all over with a great amount from the East like NY and lots from the West like CA. All anyone ever asks of newcomers is to not to try to change this area but to just enjoy it as it is! I agree with those sentiments. We moved here to get away from CA and I sure would not like this beautiful state to be anything like CA. I have ment a lot more of the nicest people here in a year then I did in a lifetime in CA. To be honest I think they will except anyone who excepts them for who they are and how they live. NC reminds me very much of CA 30 years ago. I just hope it stays just the way it is now. I love it here.
DH's Mom's bean soup sounds like my S-I-L's stew-we call it "spew."
Mikens-hopefully all will work out. Now there are lots of NY accents in the Carolinas.
lol, Lacey. It doesn't have to do with my MIL but with the bean soup. Just don't like it although she's not such a good cook (well DH would protest now )
we will be having bratwurst, cooked on the grill, some sweet corn and homemade cole slaw made with the broccoli slaw. It is supposed to be warm out today..finally.
Happy Thursday! Not sure what dinner will be tonight, maybe take out. I've had a head cold for the past few days and nothing really tastes good so why cook, lol.
It is really beautiful here so maybe its a good day for shishkabobs on the grill. I have some nice beef cubes.....but used up the green pepper, sweet onion and mushrooms....but could make a store run. We will see. Taking the beef out of the freezer.

A lot of running around to do today so dinner will probably be pizza or Chinese take-out.
Question for NC transplants: Anyone have the feeling that NC's popularity may be both blessing and curse? I have a bit of an aversion to 'trendy' or 'boomtown' and an curious how others feel.
