Well tonight hubby and daughter were in the kitchen making a pot raost with mashed potaoes and gravy. Mind you neither one of them really don't cook that much but seeing as how I am nursing my swollen knee they cooked tonight. Have to say they did a pretty good job with me directing them from the couch with an ice pack and elevating my leg.

The pulled pork:

I am sure it tastes wonderful and smells wonderful and that everybody likes it.....I like it myself....but it isnt very photogenic....the photographers who photograph food for the magazines get the big bucks because they know how to make it look appealing. Not to insult your photo....but I know that photo doesnt do justice to your cooking.

It can be hard to photograph food. Has anyone ever tried to back up and objectively look at a plain bowl of chocolate ice cream? I mean, it might not look so good if you didn't know what ice cream was. Thank God we all do!!!

Glad your family cooked you the pot roast, Denise in Fla, instead of making you eat PB&J sandwiches.

We're being super naughty tonight and I'm making buffalo wings.

Elston, I totally know what you are saying but it's so tasty I promise. It does look a little unappetizing though.

I am absolutely sure it is.....all pulled pork looks pretty much the same....on the roll with some slaw and chips or fries it looks prettier..but in the pot...; food is a combination of eye appeal but of aroma and taste and presentation.....I really didnt mean to pick on you and am sorry if my remark sounded mean.....I didn't mean it that way.

Tonights dinner is in the records books. Mission accomplished. BBQ Chicken, whole berry cranberry sauce, whole grain rice/pasta type side, leaf spinach and plenty of iced tea. Thought better of getting the camera out. I read a photo article some years ago as to how the photogs got the brilliant images for the food adds. Some were literally painted . Now with Photoshop and high res digital it shouldn't be quite as much of a challenge.

elston: I used to drive out of my way for BBQ pork sandwiches that came with the slaw option. Thanks for making me want a 4th meal

Tonight we are having leftover smoked brisket sliced very thinly and I'll probably eat mine on a potato roll with some BBQ sauce..........also having coleslaw and baked beans, butterscotch pudding for dessert!

Funny, anytime you mention peppers and egg I have to make it. My father used to make that for us all the time, one of my favorites!
