Sure it does. Republicans get away with being the biggest spenders in 2000-2006 and the liberal RINO Republicans still back them.

Like the Communist party, these Republicans believe more in the party than the idealogy it was founded on.

since some of you are fussing about Cuba and Obama being a socialist, yet you know he doesnt look kindly on corporate welfare, maybe we need to define "socialism" more clearly in the context of this discussion. I dont know what the word is, if there even is one, that means free-flowing largesse from the state to both incarnations of taxable entities.

Now, on the surface, I might not have a problem with this type of redistribution. However, I am ever mindful of something Ronald Regan once said- “We can never tax ourselves into prosperityâ€. The fact of the matter is we live in a capitalist economy. Those that produce reap the benefits. Those that don’t produce, reap what they sow- very little.

To try and set forth a shift in our economy to redirect and punish those that produce and reward those that don’t seems very dangerous- for both classes.
I'm all for it. Bush has redistributed the wealth of the Middle Class to the Upper Class during his presidency - now it's time for a reversal.

Reagan was a hack- you can produce all you possibly can in this economy, yet average wages won't get you a stable, middle-class lifestyle.

Obama is not necessarily an outright socialist, but he's a HUGE supporter of the social welfare state. For conservatives like myself, this creates a huge moral hazard as social welfare actually LIMITS freedom...economic freedom. It creates dependency when implemented incorrectly (which it nearly always is) and provides a very inefficient conduit (bureaucrac) than other methods of helping people out.

I wouldn't trust anyone on the internet saying something so ridiculous. I'm also a member of the Republican party and actively involved in BJ Lawson's election. There are few candidates I support from the party, and I practically want to puke when listening to most of the liberal warmongering RINOs around me.

Most of it was NOT for the war. That's a total lie. Most of it was for discretionary spending and social programs, like that $300B Medicare bill and that $300B Fannie/Freddie bailout.

Today's Republican leadership is liberal to the core. Making war does not make one conservative. In fact, since the Soviets did the same, it merely solidifies a liberal argument.
