I'm already having a Happy New Year. In past years, the Twilight Zone marathon has run for 24 hours. This year it's running for 45 hours. So, instead of ending at 7:00 AM this morning, it wont end until 4:00 AM tomorrow morning. I plan on doing nothing at all today, just vegging out with Queenie, some snacks, my blueberry sparking water and the TV.
I love those old TZ episodes. One of my favorites is with a very young Robert Redford in which he is "Death."
It's fun to see the actors who were just getting their starts.
Oh, yippee! I see my all time favorite TZ episode "To Serve Man" is on tonight at 7:30. This one still blows me away after all the years of watching it.
Yes, "To Serve Man" is considered, by many, to be one of the best TZ episodes, if not the very best one of all.
And I agree that it's wonderful to see a young Cloris Leachman and a young William Shatner, as well as many more stars who were just starting out back then. And Robert Redford as "Death" at the door is also one of my favorites.
I've read that actors all begged to be on TZ, not just for the exposure, but mainly because Rod Serling was such a nice guy that everyone in the industry enjoyed working for him.

I'm glad to hear that. I never read anything negative about him. I consider him to have been a genius in his writing and production.
There is one episode that scared me so much. It stars Inger Stevens as a young woman who is driving alone across the country and she keeps seeing the same hitchhiker thumbing for a ride. I know you know the one I mean. That guy scared me to death and he still does.

That episode was on yesterday. It is scary. That one and the one with Bill Shatner seeing the monster on the airplane wing are probably the only ones that I dont "enjoy" watching.
Oh, the "Kick the Can" episode is on now -- about the old people in the old-folks-home who become young kids again when they play the kick-the-can game. That one always makes me cry a little.
Edited to add that the "To Serve Man" episode is now on. It's one of the most famous for the surprise ending.
Although I know every TX show by heart, there are always little tidbits that I see, for the first time, every year.
For example, I never noticed that George Lindsey (the guy who played Gober Pyle on The Andy Griffith Show) was also on a TZ episode "I Am The Night". He certainly plays a very different character on TZ.
I'm late to the game... (was trying to still get rid of this "whatever" yesterday and today had to bundle up and go out an shovel - anyway, one of my favs. was always the one w/the old guy and his dog getting into heaven.
