OMG, Flamingo. I am so sorry to hear this. How distressing it must be for both of you. "Distressing" is an understatement. It must be total hell. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
Wow. I didnt know so many people here had kidney issues. I've had several bouts of acute kidney failure over the past 3-4 years and the nephrologist has been trying to keep it from becoming chronic. Nothing like what Flamingo's husband is going through but I know what the future may hold.
Flamingo, we're all here for you and your husband. I truly believe in the power of positive thinking and good vibes and have been, and will continue to be, sending them your way.
Thanks TFW (won't let me rep you again) - that means alot. The prednisone he was put on (he started Sat. w/3 pills, Sun. 3, Mon. 3 - then drops to 2) - his blood sugar (diabetes is a side effect of the anti-rejection meds.) - was 407 yest. right after dinner, and 557 tonight! Yikes
Wow. I know about prednisone and blood sugar, Flamingo. I had to deal with that, although not as high as your hubby, and my next-door neighbor, who's on the waiting list for a liver transplant, has sugar levels in the 400-500s due to his meds. Is there anything the docs can give him to offset the increased blood sugar level at least a little?
Well, I'm glad he can get the level down to at least that number. I forgot that my neighbor told me he takes insulin shots several times a day when he level is in the 400-500s.
