Hello my dears! Sorry I'm sort of doing a hit and run today, but even though I don't really have time to visit, I wanted to let you guys know I think of you often. Hope everyone is hanging in there. And oh my, that doggy is adorable! Great picture!
I'm glad it's working out for you TFW!! (and I can't believe they had never given her a bath!!)
It's not the rescue group's fault. They've been overloaded with dobermans. The president of the local doberman rescue has a horse ranch and keeps all the dobermans who dont have foster homes at the ranch. There are @ 15-20 dobermans there right now. The dogs are fed, crated at night, outside in horse pens during the day and well-cared-for -- but no one can give them much individual attention when there are that many dogs and a ranch/profession to take care of, as well.
An, of course, Lulu was boarded off-site (at a veterinary clinic) for a good part of last year, so she didnt get much attention there either.
Coincidence or not? Lulu was taken into rescue the very month that Queenie bloated and died (and was brought back to life) the day after her emergency surgery -- September 2014.
My life is just flying by. It was a year ago today that I got the news my brother had died. I just cant believe it's been a year.
I say this all the time but hug the ones you love every chance you get and tell them they are loved. It could be a matter of life or not if they hear it.
So sorry about this sad anniversary, Camper. I so agree about telling people you love them.
Bob, I just read about the bad freeze, the worst in 10 years, in your area. Temps in the -4 to -10 degree range for the next few days. Please stay warm!
Sooooo.... TFW46, how's it going in your house hold? I'd be will to bet there are starting to be some smiles along with the memories. Can't wait to hear about your first trip to the park!!
Bob, wish you were here. It's going to be quite warm here today. Poor hubby has pick today to install our radiant barrier in the attic. At least we got the kind that just pop in place but it's still going to be a lot of bending over all day. I see in my little magic ball... a back rub tonight!
Hey, Camper! Things are going great here. Lulu is as different from Queenie as is possible, but she makes me smile and is healing my broken heart.
I wont take her to the fenced-in schoolyard for a couple of weeks. I got spoiled by Queenie in that I didnt ever have to close any of the gates at the schoolyard -- Queenie would run/walk right past the 12-foot-wide open gates with never a thought about going out any of them. I doubt Lulu would be so trustworthy and I'm not really up to walking the length of 4-5 football fields to close all the gates yet. But Lulu is having a really great time learning the ropes here at home and she doesnt seem to miss going out at all.
Poor Bob. I wont tell you that it's going to be in the 80s this week. Low temps in the 60s.
