Thanks Flamingo and Camper. Yes, it is heart-breaking -- but making the decision is something that will take some time. It's hard to give up a place that's been your home for 35 years.

I know. It's hard to believe we've been here 25 years already. We built this house. The two of us, with a little help here and there. Stick by stick, nail by nail. We talk about moving someday when he's not able to take care of things but it's hard to grasp. My daughter grew up here. So many memories.

TFW, I didn't mean to make like of you moving. I do understand whats involved.

Wow. You built your house, Camper? I'm very impressed. That must make it really special to you. Is your husband a carpenter or a contractor?

Nope, we were just young. His building experience consisted of helping his dad build a shed and working as an electricians apprentice for short while. It's all up to code. We had no professionally drawn plans. He had it all drawn out his way and jut said hold this or nail it here. When I could understand his drawings he made me a doll house out of balsa wood that was to scale of our house. Even made a water bed so I could move it around, see how much room I'd have in the rooms.

We decided on a two story to save money. The main house is about 1700sq ft, then five years later we added on a 1000 sf sun room/games room. Thats where we stayed while they installed the new flooring and while we painted and repaired the main part. It was fun... years ago. Gets really old now. There is very little to be done these days. Little trim here and there. We did everything except the roof, the slab, the well and the septic. Look around your house, we did all that. Including the kitchen cabinets, all the towel holders and tolit paper holders.

It amazing what you can do when your young and broke. Oh, and did I mention my daughter was a year old when we moved in? And that there was a stack of sheet rock in the living room needing to be installed, no running water and no potty?!! The water and the potty came the next morning and my inlaws live down the road.

Started the house on April 6th and moved in on Labor day... He was 25 and from the day I met him I believed he could walk on water and he has proved it so many times. Now , thats not to say he didnk sink a few times but thats another story!!

Thanks. I think we're most proud of the fact we have never owed a dime on it. Paid as we went.

Amazing, Camper! Stay dry tonight and tomorrow.

And there's apparently no hope for poor Ketabcha -- her area is always wet.

I wish I could get a photo of Lulu's mouth. All four of her canine teeth have been ground down and and all the rest of her front teeth are missing. As a result, a little piece of her tongue often hangs out of her mouth, right in front. It looks so cute and puppy-like. But, every time I get out the camera, she pulls her tongue back into her mouth.

And she's started carrying around one of my slippers. She doesnt chew it -- she just picks it up and takes it to her dog bed. I've bought her many stuffed animals but she apparently wants something that smells like me.
