In Cambium's defense, he never said anything in "absolutes".

By "Xmass" do you mean "Xmas"? Sorry - that was bugging me.

Thanks, but not sure he was talking about me. I was just pointing out what other sources were showing us. We did get below normal a few times though.

By xmass or Xmas, do you mean Christmas?

Anyway, I am thankful for this mild December so far.

Yeah, I've never seen "XMASS", either. Christmas or Xmas. But I'll take this mild weather no matter what people call it.

For those of you who like warm weather, I started a thread about the forecasts for an east coast Torch because I'm not bias to one type.

https://www.city-data.com/forum/weath...blowtorch.html

However..., for those who use TWC as religion Here Ya Go. From the most trusted, well known source.... Love to hear this now. Below Normal for us Jan-March.

No I was not talking about Cambium – I was actually giving myself an open door in case the forecast is 100 % incorrect.

It appears (based in everything right now) that the low/storm will pass out east/south and the Tri-State area and we'll see a green “Xmas”…about 90% sure. However, the weather can always do what it wants, so I hate to say things in absolutes. One can get burned very easily..

However, I think we should be fine this weekend - no weather issues for the Tri-State area. The Weather Channel vid (above) really is not a real shocker - they are just playing the old climo game. Miami has been near 80 F everday so far this December due to that strong subtropical ridge. So saying it will be warm in Florida is no shocker, though its fine with me since I'll be in southern Florida several times between now and late March. Otherwise - in the short term - the pattern looks to stay mild on the East Coast into mid January.

.

Man..just keep doing what you are doing. I never take your comments as absolute...its just possibilities and we all know that. At least you give us a more rounded perspective than just a warm bias. Your credibility will be intact as long as you keep that idea up.

Like I said, I think a few spots in Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland and Windham can squeeze 3" of of this system Friday. Should stay on ground for Christmas as temps will stay in the 30s.

Advisories or Watches could go out tomorrow.

Im sure papafox will appreciate this post... I think its very cool to learn and look at soundings. I added some text onto it so you can see what Im saying. This shows you different layers of the atmosphere at a given time. Red line is temp. Green is dew point
