This is what they call "TORCH"... I got a reading of 68 and feels like over 70 in the sun.

Current temp map as of 1:10pm. That Ridge in the East doesnt want to go away. And people complain about a couple months of winter? Seems to me the NorthEast gets 10months of weather like this. lol

I don't know what Hartford's high was but I looked on OKX (they usually post highs by 5pm) and only Islip came close at 65.

The low should track further south then thought. Instead of going through central NY and southern Vermont its going over NYC and southern MA.

Means more rain for us.

HPC always seems to over do it... we'll see. I think less than 2 inches more than 1.25" is a fair thing to expect.

Pre Thanksgiving Storm Update:

If you're travelling check your destination or for any flight delays. Especially if you're going North.

Winter Storm Watches are posted for NY, VT, NH, ME

Parts of NY and Vermont will get up to a foot.

Models have shifted south and catching on to cooler air...Will not affect us down here... Albany and northern MA will be the southern most snow accumulations if any.

November has been quite a dry month, had started to wonder if Central Park would really get to #2 all-time for yearly precip. This storm should put it over the top......

….and warm too.

Just one day this entire month my garden had only one frost, and NWS Bridgeport had just one low temp below freezing. On 16 of 21 days the high at NWS Bridgeport was above normal – with several days in the 60’s (parts of the state hit 70 F):

Just as I mentioned back in the early part of the month – even though the first days of November were below normal – it would not last. I know it's not what some what to hear - but much of Canada was just too warm this fall– and that effects what happens down in the USA. The cold air masses are just too anemic by the time they get down, then east to the East Coast. The overall warm and dry pattern as we start meteorological winter next Thursday is pretty good channeling that the pattern looks to stay warm and dry through much of December. As of today – NWS Central Park stands at 51.6 F….solidly in 5th place for the warmest November since 1869. After the low/rain storm passes by on Thur morning…temps will head back to near 60 F for highs into the Holiday Weekend.

Interesting...

NCDC data shows that the contiguous USA has not warmed in the past decade, summers are cooler, winters are getting colder

“The last ten years of the BEST data indeed show no statistically significant warming trend, no matter how you slice and dice them”.

Using the mean temps for the decade...Look at the NorthEast. LOL!!
NCDC data shows that the contiguous USA has not warmed in the past decade, summers are cooler, winters are getting colder | Watts Up With That?

and SNOWIER! Great time to live in the northeast if you like winter snow. It just seems storms stay snow right to the coast now so much more often as i stated in a prior post. Still not sure why. NYC and other major coastal cities have been setting snow records left and right the last few years.
