Today is the 29th anniversary of the snowiest April day on record in southwestern Connecticut. Does anyone remember that one??

Exactly a half-foot of snow fell on April 6, 1982. Record lows of 19, 18, and 23 degrees from April 6 through April 8. Wind Gusts were over 40mph.

Just south of us in NY and NJ, The storm had Thunder and lightning, a foot of powder blowing around, whiteout conditions, temperatures falling to 19 degrees at Newark NJ at 2pm and wind gusts over 50-60mph for a period of 5-6 hours..

Yes, you’ll be quite happy in the coming week(s).

The deep trough on west coast will keep California-Washington in a cool wet pattern in the next several days….with a more or less zonal flow over the rest of the USA. However, by late this weekend as the trough moves into the southern Plains…the southerly flow ahead of the trough…and the building subtropical/southeast ridge it will send temps surging in the eastern USA. Not only will it be warm, but dew points will be noticeable higher come Sun/Mon/Tue in the Tri-State area. High dew points and it’s only early April

Places like Philadelphia, NYC, and New Haven could crack 75 F by Mon, if fact, some cities in the I-95 corridor could touch 80 F. This April is already running warmer than normal at both the CT NWS stations…

I guess the hype/spin of a cool April turned might turn out to be wrong (again)

1 Year Ago today the temperature climbed to 81 degrees at Sikorsky Airport in Stratford, establishing a record high for the date.

8 years ago today, two inches of snow fell in southwestern Connecticut.

29 years ago today a record low of 18 degrees was set

I'm hearing 70's possible Monday right before a strong cold front comes through. That means one thing... Storms.

I think Litchfield and Fairfield counties will see the strong storms not further East Monday night.

NWS is saying 80 in NYC on Monday so 70s are very likely in CT.
