Cold front right over us now. Felt nice this morning. Breath in, Breath out.
Cooler nights around the corner. I'm seeing 50s for upstate and even to the coast by next week. Not sure how long it will last though.

TD#14 develops. Im waiting for someone to tell me to Be quiet because it seems like things happen when I mention stuff. I wasnt mentioning Katia at all.

Maria scares me. Look at Irene's track and Depression14 location and its forecasted path

Coming Soon to a niehgborhood near you....... FALL TEMPS

Maria might go OTS as well and if another tropical system doesnt move North we could finally be seeing 40's and 50s in the NorthEast.

It's nice to see that blue line (32 degree line) on the map again. :-) This frame is for September 19th.

If I'm reading the correct "blue line" (which I'm probably not, or maybe it is temperatures aloft and not on the ground) it seems to go through the middle of Boston and Cape Cod. I would think a low of 32 there on Sept. 19 is physically impossible, some of the other areas under it like far northern New England or the Adirondacks it can happen though. I believe the earliest in the fall 32 degree temperature ever recorded in Beantown itself is around the 1st or 2nd week of October........but even 50s would be nice!

Yup. Its the 850mb level which is on the graph.. Roughly 6000' above sea level. That line is more crucial to look at in the winter during precip but it implies cooler weather coming down. 50s are posible widespread and 30s for Vermont. 40s for PA and MA.

Misspelled *Neighborhood. lol My fingers sometimes faster then my mind.

doesn't look like Maria will grow beyond TS status even if/when it does hit land. weather.com has the wind staying steady at about 50mph.

Always wondered what "850mb temps" meant in the OKX and BOX discussions; I figured out from those discussions that in winter an 850mb temp of 0C/32F basically defined the rain/snow line, but your explanation clarified it further for me, thanks!

These are surface temps from the GFS. Now showing 20s for Vermont next week.

I have a hard time believing that so I'll say 30s for Vermont parts of CT could see 40s that morning next week. But mostly low 50s all around the state

Holy crap...what happened overnight? Our street in the north side of W. Hartford is flooded with 2' of water this morning and I can't get out of my driveway! Don't think we were supposed to get heavy rain & thunderstorms...
