7am. NYC is absolutely ridiculous. What a joke that area is.

67°F while nobody in the East down to Florida is that warm????

You have to go all the way down to Miami for it to be that warm.

And we use that place as part of our global temps?

Good news is...it didnt rain and so the soils will keep staying dry to help with lower dewpoints.

Bad news is...it didnt rain and drier soils = warmer temps.

The longer the soil dries out deeper and deeper the hotter we will get come summer but maybe not as humid.

Sun coming out again... Day #7 now

It's a bad reading. NY is high 50s in Midtown East right now.

Chance of rain for Friday. I keep waiting to put down my pre-emergent / fertilizer so I don't have use the sprinklers to water it in. But after the next day or two I'm not waiting any longer. The soil temps are getting into the mid 50's.

Went for a run.... Someone get me another bottle! (not to drink). This weather is amazing. Why cant it be like this for 6 months in a row?

Cherries are blossoming but 15% of trees still bare (mostly oaks). About 65% have buds. 20% are blossoming. Grass is very green. Just mowed mine (after my run) for first time this year.

No it wasn't. It was fine. That's a classic case of UHI I believe but not even Philly's UHI was that warm..

Here's LaGuardia's OBS sheet. They dropped to 64-65 now back to 67.

Here's JFK. They jumped to 67 at 8:50am. They are at 72° at 10am now..

And Central Park. They went from 65° to 68° now. So that 67° reading in NYC was not an error. Ridiculous if you ask me. No other station was that warm north of Miami.

While I understand UHI, I never quite got that about NYC. I didn't think it would be that pronounced vs. everywhere else but no other explanation really makes sense.

Does Philly have more trees or less concrete around? No idea. Now at 11am Philly is 75° and NYC 68°
