Long range models are all over the place on where this winter is gong to go. Some are showing us torching late Jan into Febuary. Some are showing us cold and snow. 1/15-1/30 time frame is what we need to watch. Latest runs are turning to more cold. We will see..

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything extreme either way. No torch. No frigid. I'll give it another 10 days before I say no more single digits.

Considering we have support from multiple indices at this point, confidence continues to grow for a late January coastal storm. Unlike some uncertainties with the Panhandle Hook storm, this East US storm looks more promising with this new data.

As we head into February, I'm thinking we will continue on the road of gradually easing out of the cold weather pattern we will have been in for much of January. Despite this, long range indices tell me we could see some continued stormy weather, and I'll be monitoring that potential in coming days and weeks.

I agree. Tough call. Models are all over the place. Only time will tell.

But lets not forget some of the biggest snow storms have happened in February and its still winter.

Long term models..... heh an oxymoron

Set your dartboard up... tag everything on the board from extreme cold to warm..no snow to snow...now...
