I found ENSO only really affects weather in Fall & Winter. So while we are in or heading to an El Nino it has little effect for us now. I think overall it tends to bring drier weather to central U.S but there so many factors I don't like pin pointing what is the cause.

Weather is a marriage of so many factors.

Regarding the ticks.. Maybe. And yeah, I agree maybe a thin coating is better then completely dry. Keep the ground even colder and cold can penetrate through.

1pm temps. Torching for beginning of May. I believe 1-2 weeks earlier than last yr

lol. Looks like we had 1 month of Spring only. April we had a lot of 60s.

March we had a lot of 30s and 40s. We need more months with 50s and 60s.

Maybe June? lol. Still early in May although the cool down wouldn't happen till mid month or later.

Here's the latest data for BDL. Notice the 70s each day and now its showing 80s again for Sunday.

Then cold front moves in (with precip!) next week and temps struggle past 50s Wednesday & Thursday.

My rule of thumb, in a warm period, don't believe the cold in the long range, vise versa in a cold pattern. So we'll see if it keep showing that colder air for next week.

Hope that precip you speak of is rain. I fertilized my grass and need a good soaking. Also, this weekend my corn, peppers and onions are being planted so a nice soaking rain is just what I need.

Nice! I hope everyone listened to my "harden off veggies now" posts last week. They will be ready to go in this weekend. Earlier then normal

Watching those cold days closely (we do get them still so heads up). Will just find a way to cover them if so..

Dewpoint in the mid 50s with clouds and pokes of sun while air temp in the 70s. Definitely feeling the mugginess now. Smells summerish.

Low 80s with DPs in the mid 40s seems more tolerable then mid 70s and DPs in the mid 50s. The both suck! Lol

I don't know which is better..

Yesterday Sunny, low 80s with dewpoints in mid 40s
Today Cloudy, mid 70s with dewpoints in the mid 50s

Hot and Dry or Warm and Muggier.
