9:10pm radar. Looks like some moisture East of the Poconos developing over NW NJ.

32° line at 4500' is around Philly but notice its pushing up in the Atlantic already..

Setting up my time lapse camera in case I miss when the snow/ice starts

Latest HRRR model PType Radar animation. 1am-11am. Ice starts in NYC/SWCT after 4am. Changes to rain across the state by 9-10am.

Not sure I believe the persistent ice in NYC

Another good link to save. Just not sure if it will be the latest or if its a static link. Will show you the Hi-Res model Ptype loop. You can slow it down.

Interesting! NWS NY released the usual weather balloon at 7pm and found a substantial warmup. It was 37.4° at 3500 feet. The NAM model has 2000-4500 level above freezing for entire event.

Also noted temps have "risen" past few hrs thanks to clouds.

I'll stick to my north of I-84/Merrit watch and not a big deal southwards. We'll see.

DRAMATIC WARMING ALOFT WITH THIS SYS. 00Z KOKX RAOB 3C AT 3500
FT. THE 00Z NAM HAS MAX LAYER TEMPS AT H925-H85 ABV FREEZING FOR
THE ENTIRE EVENT ACROSS THE ENTIRE CWA. VERY LITTLE IF ANY SNOW
LIKELY IN THIS SCENARIO. HAVE NOT ADJUSTED SNOWFALL AMTS TNGT WITH
THIS FCST...BUT HAVE PULLED ANY SNOW IN THE CITY AFT 11Z MON.
PREFER TO WAIT FOR THE 00Z GFS TO REDUCE SNOW AMTS ACROSS THE
INTERIOR.

Radar and 850mb temp here. Already above freezing over NYC.

freezing over NYC.

Looks like the schools around here don't want to be "caught off guard" again.

Connecticut Weather Inc - local weather, tri-state weather, national weather

good for them! However all I see is a wet driveway out there.

Reports of 1-2" in Lichfield county. Here's Route 7 North Canaan. Sleet and rain reports in south CT. Looks like temps didn't drop much

Remember where that freezing line was yesterday? Now use those links and see. More push north of Warm air overnight.

Current Radar, 850mb temp & metars. If your below that freezing line & your temps are <33° watch out for ice & sleet. Notice everyone north of that line is reporting snow.

Seems schools are taking the caution route today. The news is still playing down as rain it everything I see and read points to an icy day given the temps. Watch for black ice.

I noticed that northern Westchester and Putnam counties in NY and most of the Hartford area closed today. Danbury area and southern Westchester and Fairfield all did delays.....
