What a pattern. Looks like 2 days of heat then back to the cool low humidity weekends. The summer of perfect weekends?

Wednesday: Hot and uncomfortable, with haze and higher humidity; scattered afternoon thunderstorms possible. High: 86-91. Heat Index values: 95+

Thursday: Lots of clouds, very tropical and humid, with numerous opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the low 80s

Friday: Plenty of sunshine, much less humid. Highs near 83.
Saturday: Lots of sun, with seasonable temperatures. High: 82-85.
Next Sunday: Sun and clouds, with a late thundershower possible. Highs just shy of 85.

Probably the only one that really stands out as cooler is 2009.....though going back a bit further 2000 and 2001 were two straight years of very cool summers.

Very tolerable for July standards. Had A/C off all day just now turned it on to get it cool and dry.

I'll see if I can bring up some summer stats. PC shut down so I'm limited with the phone

As promised...

Summer Average Temps for Hartford, CT area.

So far 2014 is 14th warmest as of 7/20 with an average of 72.4°.

2009, 2000, 1992 and 1985 were very cool summers!

Looking ahead I see no big threat for 90s still and we might be in a Fall flow end of month beginning of August so that should knock the average down more.

I'm surprised it ranks that high. Is it because of the unusual amount of 90-degree days at BDL compared to the rest of the Northeast?

It could be the unusually high nighttime lows relative to the highs, though that has actually "cooled off" a bit lately (yeah, pun intended!)
