Man o Man if this continues. Just talking about the overall setup would be cold and snowy for us.

NWS Cleveland says... "OVERALL PATTERN IS NOT LOOKING VERY GOOD RIGHT NOW AND IS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT WE SAW DURING THE WINTER MONTHS"

The air is bleeding down from Canada and the Arctic and of course in July the temps aren't below freezing there plus you have the sun. lol But still, you saw how 2000 records broke.. Lets see how many break next week now.

Another cool August would be great, last year was awesome. Made for a great autumn too with better than average foliage.

edit: and then of course I'll be crying when winter lasts until May.

lol. Great point I haven't even thought about yet regarding the leaves. Last year saw a warm July like this year, lets see if August is cool this year like last year.

That Atlantic High pressure (ridge) needs to shift towards Europe and we'll have better chances for a cool August

6:30am temps. I bottomed at 59.5°. Meanwhile some folks in PA are at 39-46°.

There's some more co-op sites in between these main climo sites that show low 40s around..

I cannot imagine what its like to wake up near 40° in July. That would be awesome! Im wearing a sleeveless shirt right now, they are wearing a sweatshirt.

What a pattern. The summer of perfect weekends?

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... 415 AM UPDATE... THICK CIRRUS FROM CAPE ANN TO THE EASTERN TIP OF LONG ISLAND WAS PROGRESSING STEADILY EASTWARD AND WILL EXIT THE COAST BY DAYBREAK. THEN... WOW WHAT A SPECTACULAR DAY TODAY. HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE OHIO VALLEY WILL BE IN CONTROL OF OUR WEATHER. WE ARE FORECASTING BRIGHT SUNSHINE...WARM TEMPERATURES FROM 80-85...AND LOW HUMIDITY WITH DEWPOINTS MAINLY 50-55 EXCEPT UPPER 50S ON THE CAPE/ISLANDS.

Did you see what NWS State College said last night? They mentioned frost. I wonder if anyone saw any this morning.

I think we get rain on Sunday which will ruin our 6 weekends in a row I think. Yeah, these breaks are perfect. Those who hate cold and snow need this pattern to change a.s.a.p.!

-----------------

We are at the top... Bridgeport,CT(BDR) Normal Max temp on July 26th is 83°F. Starts to drop after tomorrow. It's 79° August 31st. Lows start dropping after the 11th

-----------------

Here's the temps at 4000 feet and the anomaly. This translates to 70s during a July afternoon next Wednesday!

Another perspective of how cool this air is would be similar to surface temps of 20s during the day in January.

Is Sunday supposed to be just afternoon t-storms or a total washout?

Probably scattered. Maybe some downpours here and there. Low pressure riding the front.

I don't think its a washout. Sounds like you have outdoor plans. lol

Of course! I was going to try and get some hiking in so I will have to keep my eye on the potential for t-storms as the weekend progresses.
