Right now it looks like most of Connecticut, Long island/NYC area, New Jersey, eastern PA, and Delaware are all safely above freezing. Right now I'm at 42 F with just light rain falling.

While there might be some wet mix here and there, I think we are in good shape if the warm air keeps the cold air away until the precip ends late tonight. If that forecast holds, I doubt will see any issues with frozen precip in the CT/NYC/NJ area:

0.60" of rain total here so far since yesterday. Raining at good clip right now. Some nasty returns north of me. That's gotta be Orographic lifting in play. Wow! Mountains/Hills enhancing precip wringing out the atmosphere. Someone is getting some heavy snow bursts under there in the corner of CT/NY/MA.

Bruce DePrest says 2-5 inches in the Northwest hills and a coating to 2" elsewhere. Nothing at the shoreline.

Certainly nothing to get excited about.

Down to 36. Not my station but very close by. I think all of CT sees snow by 12-1am.

What are the totals for tonight, Camb? I have to work in the morning and need to know what I can expect in the morning. Sleeting here for a while now.

Great report! I think you will change to snow very soon. Many reports of snow northwest of you.

That's likely a fair guess on his part.

I think only the far NW Hills have a chance at any real accumlations (though I would say more like 2 - 4 inches)......coating to 1 inch in other inland and points north/west of I-84 ....and zero for the rest of southern/coastal CT.

Sun should be back out on Saturday with highs into the 40's F.

Its going to vary per location. Figure maybe an inch of sleet, maybe 1-3" of snow on top? I think by morning roads are fine.. let us know if you can

I think it changed sooner than projected. There's enough moisture to last another 5-6hrs.

BDL now reporting sleet. Wind chills in low 30s across CT.
