The building at least will be put to good use.
KPMG also moved/is moving into that building. Of course that means other Stamford buildings were vacated.

It is awful how tiny a presence RBS & UBS have in Stamford now relative to not long ago.

They are down a few thousand jobs from their peak just a few years ago.

Musical Chairs is the name of the game in Stamford office real estate. The last I heard was over 30% vacancy downtown. UBS is a shell of it's former self, that dog GE too, though neither a fault of the state.

We can't afford more shells. Each shell represents opportunities lost.

Last I heard they still had over 1,200 employed there. Hardly gone by any stretch. Jay

Per your article UBS & RBS 1,760 total vs 2,160 alone at UBS in 2014. Indicated RBS laid off 700 in last year alone.

Sad story.

Way off. There are probably less than 600 UBS employees left at 600 washington. Many are not even UBS but Wipro and EPAM H1B contractors. They are consolidating down to one floor via Agile desks. Hard to say how many forced to work from home. RBS down to 400, all on one floor. Building is a ghost town.

I personally know several UBS employees and this isn’t true. I think there are a few hundred left there, max.

I do know from spending several mornings in that area, the ghost town description is accurate. It was a decent run, but its sad direction is all too obvious.

I also know it has gone substantially contractual, a/k/a "easy to reduce staff as needed".

Every day a person enters and leaves this world, same with business. The reality is the state hasn't done enough to be pro business. If like other states that were bringing in new business, then GE, UBS etc wouldn't hurt so much.

Your post in FFlD county market report also speaks to falling prices we shared here.

Adding more, continuously, is the key.

Year in, year out, decade in, decade out. Always adding new professional career track businesses. Those are the businesses with the most options on where to go.
