As to the warm temps yea, 70's F seem a bit much, but in should have no trouble getting into the 60's after Tuesday. In fact, even Monday, as we have cool air settled right over the Tri-State/Middle Atlantic....the pattern will already be turning toward the southwest - that subtropical ridge off Florida is quite strong. Here is the flow for late Monday...any cool air will be short lived it looks like:
For this time of year this is cold air. Not cool. Aren't you the guy who points out to us regularly that we expect too much cold and snow for this time of year relative to climate norms??? If that's the case then calling 10-15 degrees below normal cool..is a self serving misnomer.

Is it my imagination, or did it not get as cold as forecast last night? I'm not even sure if it made it into the 30's.

Record Lows for tomorrow.

Boston: 34F
Hartford: 27F
Bridgeport, CT: 26F
Danbury, CT: 18F

I'm usually in between Bridgeport and Danbury so I guess my record low is around 22F. I don't think we'll break them but we'll be closer to them than normals.

BTW... Wind chill right now is mid 30s north of I-84.

I got a weather alert text last night, "freeze warning" (not watch) but I see didn't even see frost this morning. I was pleasantly surprised.

Read the entire info on the alert. Its for tonight. There was no alert for last night. It was sent out because they are confident enough to issue it 24hrs before this time "for tonight".

And growing season ended north of Merrit so none will be issued for anyone northwards until growing season starts in Spring.

GFS and EURO say it's actually going to be in the 30s by 7pm Sunday and Monday. Lows in the 20s.

So starting Sunday morning we'll feel the change. Will get blustery and cold Sunday afternoon/evening then winds start to die down and we'll be cloud free Sunday night for prime radiational cooling. That's why Monday morning and Monday will be the coldest time period.
Still on schedule. 30s by 7pm tonight and again tomm.

What's interesting to me is that the colder air is having a stronger kick than the warmer air. Reminds me of September a bit. Fresh Canadian Highs squashing the southeast ridge chances and with each High that comes down there's fresh Canadian snowpack its working with.

You are right. Out of sight was the date, I had to scroll down to see it.

I think we get colder than forecasted for tonight. Look at the current temps.
