Just 2 years ago October 2011 = 85 F on October 10th (79 F on October 9th)....

So I think 90's might be gone until spring....but with the warmer than normal fall NOAA is expected I would caution 80's (or near 80 F ) is still always in the mix.

In any event....Perfect beach day today - 78 F, low humidity, and deep blue skies!
As in any year..the norm is a balance of the extremes ..so yes we could see 80 in October...we could also see a snowstorm/.

Hi-Res NAM says the sharp leading edge is by the NJ border around 4-5pm today and CT border by 9pm. Heavier rains wont happen till overnight/morning hours

I am not Cambium, but I will answer that. Yes, records always get broken. And I am not looking forward to that.

Nice! lol. Of course we will BUT my gut is telling me we'll see less....much less snow this year. Maybe even below average. I think the deep cold air will suppress the storms to the south of us. I'll rethink that once November rolls around.

Lets just hope we don't have another one of these October "leaf" snowstorm. Winter blizzards are fine, we can handle that easily in CT but Fall snowstorms are chaotic since our leaves don't fall as fast as areas up north

Nobody knows....not at this juncture... It could be 100 inches or it could be 10...

It's worth remembering (based on averages) that there is much more chance of seeing 70's and 80's F in October than a snowstorm - esp in southern CT/Long Island/NYC areas.

At NWS Bridgeport - half the days have record highs in the 80's in the month of October ....yet in the last 70 years....only ONCE was there really any snow (and not snowstorm) with 3.5 inches. In fact, 1987/2011 are the only times in the last 70 years that there has been measurable snow at NWS Bridgeport. Yet there have been warm temps (70's and 80's) every single day of the month. So the odds favor warm way more than snow I would guess.

As far as how I HOPE October 2013 goes....more of the same perfect Sept beach weather like we had on Friday - 70-'sF temps, dry air...and that burning sun:

Where is that last pic? That looks like quite a pleasant looking beach for CT shore.
