Amazing. Here we are October 30th and Bridgeport still having the driest October on record.

They need just .05" of rain in next 24hrs to get kicked out of driest October on record. But less than .72" will keep them in Top 5. Supposed to start raining tomm evening. The race is on.

What a rollercoaster in temps. 70's tomorrow and then coldest air of the season comes in on gusty winds for Sun. Looks like Sunday night and Monday are going to be the coldest so far this fall. Then back to 60s weds. LOL.

  • Today A chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Light and variable wind becoming south 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Tonight Showers likely, mainly after 8pm. Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 58. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Friday Showers, mainly before 1pm. Patchy fog before 2pm. High near 69. Breezy, with a south wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light west after midnight.
  • Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Sunday Partly sunny, with a high near 51.
  • Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 28.
  • Monday Sunny, with a high near 48.
  • Monday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.

TEMPS WERE UPDATED WITH LATEST BLENDED MOS. WE`RE STILL MILD...BUT REALLY COOL OFF SUNDAY INTO MONDAY WITH HIGHS LOWERED FROM PREVIOUS FORECAST. 45 TO 50 ON MONDAY WILL BE THE COLDEST DAY SO FAR THIS FALL. MODERATION BEGINS ON TUESDAY AND WE`RE BACK TO THE 60S ON WEDNESDAY...BUT WITH INCREASED WARM ADVECTION CLOUDINESS.

Cambium, what can we expect for trick or treaters tonight (5-8:30 PM)? Should I buy golf umbrellas for the kids for trick or treating?

I'm curious about that myself. The news channels have it raining at all different times, anywhere between 2 and midnight. I was hoping to narrow it down a bit.

HRRR shows rain over CT at 4pm. RAP is showing nothing but Scattered. NAM showing Rain moving in. Everything should be light in nature but have umbrella handy in case it does start. These are one of those "wait and see" type events.

These events are even Harder when its snow because how do you warn people without looking so bad? That's why its called "chance". Every forecast you see is based off models and sometimes even they are wrong within hours.

If we didn't try to push the cool season so hard, I think more of us would enjoy the fact that October and often November are mild in the Tri state region. 70's in November would be quite warm and usual, but we should expect 60's F now and then and then. I like saving money on heating

Also, although I'm a bit tired of cutting the lawn since April, it's fun to still have some green plants growing in the yard in early November. My bananas are still doing OK, then handled the few hrs of 30 F. So with no more frost expected at least along the Connecticut coast for the next 10 days....I get to look at my green bananas at least for the early part of November. It still looks like Florida in my yard

Interesting tid bit. BDR has not been above normal since the 22nd of October.

We went from warmest on record to not even in Top 10 warmest just from 1 week of cooler than normal temps.

Still driest on record with just 1/4" of rain over 3 inches below normal!
