Merritt south is shut down between 44 and 42 in Fairfield/Westport. Not sure if there's a lot of rubbernecking going on northbound. Good luck.

This is so odd. Nothing but clouds in West Hartford. None of the snowflakes even stuck to the ground. Hmmmm.

I think that it's the calm before the storm. Sigh...

Yeah, you guys up in Hartford are the "champs" this year in New England for seasonal snow totals........(I think you're even slightly ahead of Burlington, VT (just a stone's throw from your native Montreal) so far).

In upstate New York they actually have a "Golden Snowball" award given to the major upstate city that got the most snow for the season. Syracuse usually wins it, but occasionally Buffalo or Rochester does.

Current Observations...
S=Snow. F=Fog. ZR=Freezing Rain. R=Rain. H=Haze..

Winds will pick up, then a burst of ice, sleet or freezing rain, then it will snow... Be safe. Stay warm. Enjoy. and Leave your comments. Thanks.

I apologize for asking the obvious, I am new to this board, but:

who is Cambium and why is he all over this weather thread? Also where do you get your data and how do you run these models you speak of? Are you a meteorologist or just a hobbyist?

just curious as you appear to be obsessive about cold weather and storm patterns.
