I agree Pueblo is not the fastest growing city in the state nor the largest and even if it would make 250,000 people by 2030 it would still be far from the largest city. However that would be a nice modest growth rate for the city without too much sprawl.

You have a knack for going from the Business Section of the Pueblo Chieftain (page C1, Wednesday, May 25th, 2016) right onto Fantasy Island.

Here's what IT says,

So, not only is it not 250,000 in 15 years, but a mere 206,000 in 25 for all of Pueblo County. So remember, Pueblo West is NOT Pueblo.

Pueblo will probably be stuck on 109k for many years to come.

That was my guesstimate based on what I see happening with the weed/hemp industry. I mean from what I have heard most of this growth is due to it and it's only starting.

Also for the first time in my life Pueblo does not have enough houses to sell as there should be enough inventory for 6 months and there is only enough for 3 month. Also, there is only a few manufacturing buildings for sell. This is due to a few reasons but the biggest being the pot and hemp industries. If this keeps up look for a coming construction boom and I'm told it could start this summer.

This is a intersting graph from the Pueblo Chieftain that shows Pueblo has finally added more jobs then we had pre recession. From what I have read over 1,500 are due to MJ, Medical MJ and Hemp.

More good news for the Pueblo economy in today's Pueblo Chieftain. Honestly I am told this is mostly due to MJ in the city and county as it is not only adding jobs but bringing in millions of dollars and its only the tip of a very big iceberg. Why a construction boom could start as early as this summer.

More good news for Pueblo as the workforce reached 70,167 people topping the pre recession level for the first time.

This is from the Chieftain:

The unemployment rate in Pueblo County fell to 5 percent from 5.2 percent and the number of full- and part-time workers topped 70,000 for the first time, based on the estimates.

Spent the day down in Pueblo today.

A few hours at the Weirsbod Museum for their Air Blitz. Went to Grays Tavern for lunch with sloppers and nachos. Hit an antique mall on Grand Ave. Counter staff commented how busy they were today, which we found shocking because we got curbside parking right by the door. On our way out stopped at Springside cheese for a few wedges of some special blends and a small bag of curds. Then headed out on Elizabeth Ave checking out all the Victorian houses. Thought about stopping at Beacon Hill to check out the races, but the kids were getting tired, so we decided to head back home. Was never shot at, run off the road, or acosted by thugs. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Might head back in a few weeks to catch a show at the Mesa Drive in. Pueblo really does remind me of Colo Spgs 30+ years ago.

The construction boom I've heard would start this summer is starting. It will include retail, manufacturing, offices, medical and residential. It will be interesting to see how much Pueblo grows by 2020. It would be cool if the city could get close to 120,000 and the CSA 225,000.

This is due to a few reasons but the biggest is MJ both medical and recreational.

This is from the Chieftain:
