Milwaukee looks to have been impacted the worst by the crime surge. It has a higher shooting/homicide rate than Baltimore and is 3rd below St Louis and New Orleans. 5 years ago they didn't crack the top 10 in either statistic.
Is that just shooting rate? Milwaukee police has murders through 9/11 at 158?. Baltimore 246.
Honestly, celebrities are no go conversations for me. And there's a downward trend in popularity of celebrities. Sucks, but its another person.
It shouldn't be under sold that the cultural impact and collective 'pain' is much greater when something violent and horrific happens to a public figure. I actually am of the opinion, and I have read about this before, that more graphic images and videos of gun violence should be shown to the public. People have become numb to the classic breaking news report. People, in every community, need to understand the level of pain and horror gun violence inflicts on communities plagued by it.

No, not everyone deserves to see someone drenched in their own blood. I know people need to understand the level of gun violence but no one wants to see it 24/7 to the point they start becoming desensitized to it. Their families wouldn't want people across the world seeing someone they love dying on the TV.
