Double and triple homicides count as one on this, only including ones involving guns. Incidents from each city include suburbs if Gun Violence Archive sourced data from nearby suburbs.

I can't get with this list. Double/ triple homicides counted as one and some include suburbs while others dont?

Fair enough argument, the idea of this list is to give more of a broad perspective as it can be hard to find particular homicide counts for every single city continuously. With the way the Gun Violence Archive works it includes all gun violence homicides from a city when you “search database” and click on a particular city and state, it also automatically sources some from nearby suburbs in some instances (examples: Atlanta, St Louis, Pittsburgh). Someone else mentioned how it’s not reliable because it includes some suicides and counts some incidents twice, while that is true it doesn’t happen very often making the data mostly reliable. For instance, my home city of Fort Worth only has one suicide that got put on the list this year. Hopefully this makes a little bit more sense now.

Memphis was one city I forgot to put on the list but I’m pretty sure gun violence homicide total is around 150 and the actual actual homicide total is around 190.
