In terms of suburbs that are relatively affordable, has some walkability, access to public transportation and has good schools that are pretty diverse, I'm wondering if the Eggertsville(cdp) in the town of Amherst next to Buffalo may be the best fit in the region.
It is also not too far from black owned businesses, institutions, events, etc. on Main Street, Hertel Avenue(North Buffalo), Downtown, Bailey Avenue, as well as other parts of the East Side of Buffalo(Jefferson, Fillmore, Hamlin Park, etc).
Some of this may need to be adjusted in regards to cost of living, college presence and other factors. However, this can give some idea about income for these cities.
Here is some information from $75k and up at the metro level for the areas in the initial list for households and families. Keep cost of living and perhaps some other factors in mind.
As for other areas in the region, East Stroudsburg PA and Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown NY, both of which have black metro population percentages around the national figure(give or take), have higher household figures at 49.4% and 41.6% respectively: https://data.census.gov/cedsci/table...5Y2020.B19001B
As far as I know, these areas are #1 and #2 in the region in this category and both are areas where you could likely go into the $60-74,999 range as well. So, the percentages are likely higher in terms of the black middle class in those areas.
I can't see that being a problem in a metropolitan region of over 7 million people.
i'm thinking of a person like this. my dad went to a funeral a few years ago for someone named stanley who helped navigate the system to get us situated. my parents wouldve gotten deported without his help: https://csfilm.org/new-immigrant-and...ions/#arranger
another angle. the globe spotlite on race did a study on harvard, m.i.t., b.u., b.c., tufts, ... have very low black enrollment; however, of the few black students they got, most of them are foreign students.

That's every selective school in the country including UPenn and Drexel- I know because I've visted both schools more than once. It wa also the case at Trinity and Anywhere (Stanford, Duke) etc etc.
And Harvard has a pretty high black enrollment. Its really BU thats the worse here.
Most Black sin MA go to state schools- where theyre overrepresented in comparison to their share of the population.

Most American Harvardians, Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, or what-have-you, come from somewhere outside Massachusetts, and that's been the case since at least the end of World War II if not earlier.
I sure did. I drove 1300 miles to get there freshman year with a fellow (white) Kansas Citian who was also headed there.

Right this is the case with every selective school in MA and really in the country, unless it’s a state school like UM or Cal. Harvard is a global community.
Are there any other 4 year schools that are or come close/pluralistically more so?
