But yeah, LA doesn't look like East Coast cities. Oh well.

It's funny, I have a friend who lives on this street in Brentwood I believe (I work nearby too), and it looks like this:

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=1500+...ie=UTF-8&hl=en

Lots and lots of massive apartment buildings all over the place. Very few houses with yards in the front AND back. This is a good 15 miles away from downtown Los Angeles, mind you. 15 miles.

But.....the apartments buildings aren't touching. That's make or break around here.

The question with those videos begs the question.... Where are the pedestrians???

Fast forward the last video to about 30 seconds. There are few places in the LA metro with that much open space.

We already went through an exercise similar to this. London, on a whole, is not a super dense city. Even when accounting for public spaces and non-residential institutions, its densest 3 square miles was about 41K ppsm, which is lower than Koreatown's.

This neighborhood obviously has a far lower density than Chelsea's 33K ppsm.

What a difference design makes, eh?

Of course it does -- in parts. Even munchitup, after some kicking and screaming, agreed with me.

Anyways, wtf would you know about Coral Gables? Aren't you the braniac who called it a "beach community" a few months ago? Lol... Stick to your density figures.

This isn't true at all. Not sure where the hell you're getting that from.

Coral Gables doesn't look anything like Hollywood. It's looks like a moderately dense neighborhood in Orange County.

And yeah, I will stick to my density figures. Facts are good. I know they bother those who think attached housing are all that makes a place urban, but oh well.

What part isn't true? That Chicago is America's Sweetheart, or its crime issues? They've been pretty well-documented:

Because of one article?

And you said "around here" - You should visit this forum more often if you think Chicago isn't bashed. I think a lot of LA's hate on this forum comes from all the arrogant and ignorant posters from LA.
