So to the OP for the record, Ohio cops are not allowed to hide.

Yes they do. I saw an Ohio highway patrol hiding in tall weeds on I-71 between Cincy and Columbus.

I have yet to see OSHP hide like they do down south or in states like Pennsylvania or Michigan. So no, try finding one hiding behind an overpass like I did in Pennsylvania on my way to New Jersey. Or in Georgia in the thick trees on 95 where they would get drivers all the time. OSHP usually sits in the median or on the side of the road with their radar gun pointed right at the flow of traffic. Michigan probably does it because their roads are third world and could use the extra revenue.

Ohio cops park on freeway overpasses and shoot laser at oncoming vehicles. Ohio cops also hide in freeway rest stop areas and shoot laser at oncoming vehicles.

Yes they do, but they are in clear sight. If you don't see them, that's not their problem, it's yours for speeding. Ohio cops do not hide like they do in surrounding states or states down south. They don't drive up the hill along side an overpass and hide, or hide in the trees in medians. Like I said, in states like Michigan they probably hide because that state's infrastructure is so bad they need to get as much extra revenue as they can, war zones like Detroit, Flint, and Lansing have horrible roads and freeways. Georgia and South Carolina do it because I guess that is just how the South operates.

No, but I forgot, New Rome, Ohio consists of all of the state of Ohio and it's 11.5 million people. I have driven through Okemos, Michigan and watched somebody blow a tire on a road that looked like the Moon's surface. Ouch! When they are standing on the overpass, you see them. When they are hiding behind the overpass, you don't. Drive the PA Turnpike or I-80 in Pennsylvania. They will hit you with a hefty fine as well.

Ohio state troopers do that on the Ohio Turnpike - hide next to the center concrete dividers in a turn around area. Then they shoot you with laser when you pass by.

The Cincinnati cops station themselves around curves and behind bridge abutments on I-71. They're in plain sight -- only when you're on top of them.

Pennsylvania state cops use unmarked cars (including sports cars and subcompacts), stow radar equipment into backpacks and pretend they 're hitchhiking, hide behind buildings and back up onto bridge embankments. Our only respite is that local cops are not permitted to run radar. I'd have about 10,000 points on my license by now otherwise ...

But I think we've gone off topic (again)?

Ok, ram. I live and travel the Turnpike quite often (even have the EZ pass), I have yet to see that. They are always right in the median waiting for you where everyone can see him.
