This thread is just asking for it ... Does it really matter when you can go online (google, wiki, answers.com, etc ...) and find crime/pop+-/eco stats?

Violent Crimes per 100k

Cincinnati 1,134
Cleveland 1,549

that said, you simply can't compare two cities by looking at the crime rates, if you take Columbus or Indianapolis, they add several hundred thousand residents in their consolidated counties to their population pool and make it appear to have a lower crime rate.

impression is valuable too. stats lie...they've been through so many hands and definitions by the time they get to us, i only take em as approximations. many scandals have come out about misreporting (rape in philly, assault in baltimore, etc)

One thing that Cincinnati DOES have is better weather. Unfortunately it's not good enough to attract many people.

The city is growing and the metro is growing ... there are millions of dollars worth of development going on all throughout the city. Things are definitely looking up!

Never been to Cinci, lived in Cleveland for 3 years (1/2 downtown, 1/2 in Lakewood). While I very rarely felt unsafe and really enjoyed living there, there are bad parts to contend with just like any other city.

Annoying when people ask "which city is more ghetto". Kind of depends on which part of the city you're standing in, and what you define as 'ghetto'.

Great response! I noticed that there are a few forumers on here that have a very awkward agenda that is skewed? I'm not sure why?

When I was in Cleveland, I had a great time! We walked throughout downtown and didn't feel threatened at all ... YES ... even at night. My wife is pretty small ... she walks all over downtown Cincinnati and didn't feel insecure in DT Cleveland either ... I think she has more b@lls than a few posters on here.

Stats are stats, but you won't find me bashing Cleveland with insecure statements. I happen to enjoy a good urban environment and Cleveland has that!
