yup, the big shift is that the new liberty will be fwd/awd rather than rwd/awd. They've been unibody since they went from a full-sized to compact 30 years ago. I like the styling of the new gc, not so hot on the looks of the new cherokee but it's better to have a polarizing design that some people like and a lot hate. That's something chrysler knows very, very well. The polarizing looks of the ram and 300 were huge successes. I don't care for either, although i think the charger is one of the best looking sedans on the road.
U obviously know nothing about automobiles. First of all the CRV and Rav4 arent even in the same class as the Cherokee. Secondly the Cherokee is NOT replacing the Liberty. The Cherokee has been around way before the Liberty was even manufactured.
On the upper headlight area it looks a little like that ugly Isuzu or Nissan I forget, maybe even another brand, but in the commerical for it the guy kept calling it sexy and I'd think gross, is not. Does anyone remember than one? The actor in the commerical was the guy known for his line about lies or something????
However, that said, overall I actually find this SUV appealing, unique, classy and yes, even a little bit sexy. I really like the old square jeeps but this is going to take the Cherokee to the next level.
I think it looks fine. If it really gets over 30MPG with a kick ass AWD/4X4 system, I'm sold.
Here's the 2014 GC front end:
Out of my price range, but quite nice. The 4x4 version is supposed to be rated at 22/28, I'd wait and see what the V6 gets with the new 8-speed, however. On the other hand, if you want the torque for towing or off-road and don't mind it being a bit of a slouch diesel seems like a win.
