I live in CA so we have to go thru an extra test to get our tags every two years. Two years ago, we had to spend about $300 bucks replacing filters and whatnot to get the vehicle to pass. This time around, I'm not sure its worth it.

It has 170k, tires are about half done and I'm getting kinda sick of how much gas it eats. However, not having a monthly payment is really nice and considering how old it is, it doenst look that bad. It's been running very well the last two years after years and years of problems.

I'm about 50/50 if I should bother spending the $ to get it passed.

300 bucks to pass and no payments on a new car......which will probably be 300 bucks, month after month after month????

Plus, if you have a inline 4.0......170k is just breaking it in.

I'd keep her.
